Moe otsuka
Intern
Moe was born and raised in Okinawa, a tropical island in Japan. She came to the U.S. for college, choosing Beloit College in Wisconsin—partly to avoid being “brainwashed” by a Christian school. But after years of living with close Christian friends, she began reading the Bible, attending church, and ultimately gave her life to Christ at an InterVarsity camp in 2014.
After earning a B.A. in Art, she raised support and returned to Okinawa to serve with KGK (Japan’s sister organization of InterVarsity) as a campus staff worker. Wanting to grow deeper in Scripture and be equipped for ministry, she began her M.Div. at Trinity in 2019 and continues as a part-time student and full-time mom.
Moe is married to Shin, who is also in the same program, and they have two energetic, joy-filled sons. Together, they are praying and hoping to serve in a local church in Japan after graduation, bringing the gospel to the Japanese—the second-largest unreached people group. She enjoys God and His good gifts through nature walks, experimenting with authentic Chinese recipes, doing crafts, and especially through Scripture, prayer, and worship.
