The vision for Kids Ministry is to coordinate and interact with Student Ministry and Adult Ministry in a commitment to moving from the Well to the Word to the World.

The heart of Kids Ministry at North Suburban is to partner with parents as we help kids grow in their understanding of who God is, what it means to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus, and actively walk with Him.

Classes for kids are provided during both the 9:15am education hour and the 10:30am worship service.  The last Sunday of each month, Grades 1-5 begin in the service with parents. Check in is downstairs at the Kids Welcome Center.

Class Overview

The vision for our Preschool/Kindergarten classrooms is to reflect the days of creation. This helps the kids understand that God is our creator as represented in the Bible.

Here kids grow in their knowledge and understanding of who God is at a deeper heart level. They will have fun and experience God-centered, kid-friendly worship, awesome storytelling, and a small group experience in their classrooms with caring leaders. Classes are provided during both the 9:15 education hour and the 10:30 worship service. During the 9:15 education hour, grades 1-5 will meet together. This fall we will begin with the True and False series by Josh McDowell, helping kids cling to what is true and be able to spot lies.

Club 345

In grades 3-5, the kids will love this place that gives them an identity of their own and a sense of belonging. As they interact in both large and small groups, they will discover how relevant the Bible is to their lives right now. Club 345 also has exclusive events during the year, such as service projects and social gatherings. An overnight retreat called “Arctic Blast” is one of the favorites. Classes are provided during both the 9:15 education hour and the 10:30 worship service.  During the 9:15 education hour, grades 1-5 will meet together.  This fall we will begin with the True and False series by Josh McDowell, helping kids cling to what is true and be able to spot lies.

Theme & Curriculum

Our Theme for 2019-2020

This earth is awesome, but it’s not our real home. We are on our way to the greatest destination imaginable! Jesus’ road trip to earth made our road trip to our forever home possible. How we live our lives in both big and everyday moments matters – loving Jesus and loving people. God is in charge of our road trip and He has plans for us.

We will be looking at people in the Bible with the backdrop of their road trip and how they lived here on their way to their forever home. The lessons are adapted from the curriculum Stories of Grace published by Striving Together.
