Covid-19 Re-entry Advisory Team Update 5.22.2020

The Covid-19 Re-Entry Advisory Team (“CRAT”), consisting of Ed Mar, Louise Bell, Chung Koh, Alex Rodriguez, Jayne Eclov, and Joshua Mesec, met on May 5 a few hours after Gov. Pritzker announced the Restore Illinois 5-phase plan. Currently we are in Phase 2 and it is anticipated that we will move to Phase 3 on May 29 where public gatherings of 10 or less are allowed . After May 29, we expect to communicate guidelines to Life Groups and small group ministries. Gatherings of 50 or less will be allowed when we move to Phase 4 which could happen as early as late-June. Gatherings of more than 50 people will be allowed when we move to Phase 5, the timing of which is indeterminate given it will occur only when a vaccine or any other effective treatment is widely available. Our team is currently determining what modifications to our facility and to our regular ministry activities are needed with the mindset of mitigating the risk of virus transmission to ourselves and to our community. Please look for a survey in the coming week to be sent out to the congregation in order to gauge your current thoughts and feelings about returning to regular church activities when our government lifts its ban on public gatherings.
