The vision for Kids Ministry and our curriculum is to coordinate and interact with Student Ministry and Adult Ministry in a commitment to moving from the Well to the Word to the World.

The heart of Kids Ministry at North Suburban is to partner with parents as we help kids grow in their understanding of who God is, what it means to have a personal relationship with God through Jesus, and actively walk with Him.

The vision for our younger kids classrooms is to reflect the days of creation. This will help the kids understand that God is our creator as represented in the Bible.  We are in the process of updating, painting, and redoing our classrooms to reflect this vision.

Age 2 – Kindergarten

This is an inviting place for kids to begin to understand a little of what God is like and how much He loves them as they hear the big story of the Bible. They will experience both fun classroom time and large group worship through singing, Bible stories, and giving. Classes are provided at 10am and the Biblical theme carries throughout both hours.

GRADES 1 – 3

Here kids grow in their knowledge and understanding of who God is at a deeper heart level. They will have fun and experience God-centered, kid-friendly worship, awesome storytelling, and classroom learning with caring leaders. Classes are provided at 10am and the Biblical theme carries through both hours.

CLUB 45

The kids in grades 4 & 5 will love this place that gives them an identity of their own and a sense of belonging. As they interact in both large and small groups, they will discover how relevant the Bible is to their lives right now.   They will also be involved in service projects as well as periodic social events throughout the year. An overnight “Arctic Blast” is one of the favorites. Class provided at 10am.

Vision and Curriculum

tree

Our theme for the 2016-17 year is “Firmly Planted”. Together we hope to grow in our understanding of what it means to be a follower of Jesus and becoming “like a tree firmly planted by streams of water” (Psalm 1), impacted by God’s Word in ways that change us from the INSIDE OUT.

This is God’s Holy Spirit work in each of us. We love as a church we can partner with parents supporting them as they seek to pass on faith to their kids, forging deep roots, and bearing fruit!

We want kids to understand that the One who created the longing in us is the only One who can truly fill it through a forever friendship with Jesus.

Family Fun  & Other “Growing” Fun
This year will be a mixture of events we hope will support, encourage, and help you grow as a family in different ways.

FAMILY NIGHTS

Sept 23, Oct 21, March 17, and  April 28

We will have two pairs of Family Nights.  One pair in the fall and another in the spring.  The reason for this is for an added CHALLENGE! While this is totally optional and you don’t need to attend both in order to benefit, we will encourage your family to choose a challenge (one of ours or one of your own) and come back the following month to share what you have learned.  It’s all part of GROWING.

PARENTS NIGHT OUT – KIDS NIGHT IN

Dec 9 and Feb 10

A night OUT for parents, while kids have a blast IN at church. This can be a big gift to the whole family AND TO YOUR FRIENDS.  It’s a great opportunity to invite those who may not have experienced the love of God through His people in such a tangible way.

NTERGENERATONAL – THE BIGGER FAMILY

Nov 19 Project Share & Jan 20 Game Night

It is so good to rub shoulders with all ages both serving and having fun together.  Not only can other generations be a blessing to you but you also can be a blessing to them!
