Mayor's Proclamation

PROCLAMATION

WHEREAS, on September 7, 1958, the NORTH SUBURBAN CHURCH held its first worship service at the Deerfield Masonic Hall; and

WHEREAS, on June 7, 1959, the charter for the NORTH SUBRUBAN CHURCH was signed by twenty-four founding members; and

WHEREAS, in 1959, land at 200 Lake Cook Road was purchased to build the
NORTH SUBURBAN CHURCH,
with the third and most recent sactuary being completed in 1976; and

WHEREAS, the NORTH SUBURBAN CHURCH has a 50 year history of serving the residents of Deerfield and neighboring communities,
with special emphasis on family, student, and children's services, including such programs as Divorce Care, Grief Share, Parkinsons Support,
and its annual Project Share, which provides Thanksgiivng meals for over 1000 families in need; and

WHEREAS, the NORTH SUBURBAN CHURCH has supported service work around the world to the Philippines, China, the Czech Republic, Russia, Poland, India and other locations while continuing to seek new ways to minister to the people of the local community;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Harriet E. Rosenthal, Mayor of the Village of Deerfield,
do congratulate and offer best wishes to the NORTH SUBURBAN CHURCH
as it celebrates its 50th anniversary in Deerfield.
